COVERED ROAD IN THE CASTLE OF VIGEVANO. UPPER LEVEL With B. Vielmi, L. Mainardi
The powerful fortification has shown aspects of a complex structural stratification. Moreover, if the restoration of the lower level has given back military and geographical reasons typical of the whole castle and of the town, the upper level of the bridge-road crosses places and stations which are a tale of transformations happening in the Visconti buildings: the nineteenth century entrance hall, the remains of Bramante’s Beatrice d’Este’s apartment, the monumental emphasis of the central guard post, the draw-bridge towards the way out of Rocca Vecchia.
